Upcoming Ultimaker 2 3D Printer Training Dates

IMPORTANT: Please read the below text before signing up.

Who Can Sign Up & How

The below training sessions are available to be signed up for by paid-up members of Oxford Hackspace.

Each session can accomodate a maximum of 2 people, and should take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

Signup is first come, first served on this wiki, and you will need to create a wiki account to sign up.

Please do not sign up to a session that is already full (has 2 signups listed), and please do use your full name as it was given when you signed up for membership.

These sessions are for training on the space's Ultimaker 2 3D printer. As for training on the other printers, training days for them will follow soon.

If you are not currently a member but would like to become one, email accounts@oxhack.org or turn up to a weekly Thursday open night from 7pm.

What to Bring

Nothing is required for the training sessions other than yourself turning up on time, but if you wish, you can bring along a small .STL file with a design you wish to print, and the trainer will show you how to feed it to Cura on our 3D printing laptop.

Fees

Like all tools, there will be a small fee to use the 3D printer because we need to cover maintenance costs, but it's fairly minimal and the trainer will tell you all about it.

Signup Etiquette

Lastly, if you sign up you are blocking others from receiving training at that time...so please make sure to turn up and be on time. Training is offered to help you learn what to do to make great things yourself, but also to make sure you've learned our safety rules that are in place to protect you, other members, the building, and the life of the tool.

Therefore if you sign up but are unable to make it on time, you will have to forgo learning this time and try again some other time, as learning all the information in the training session is mandatory. If you can't make it to your session, you must tell the mailing list ahead of the session and ideally remove your name from the wiki so someone else can grab your spot. If you don't warn us and simply fail to turn up with no communication, you will not be able to sign up for training again for 4 weeks. Thanks for understanding!
